Three??
Nearing the end of June and the Pirates are just three games out of first? Who'd have thunk it? Worried about the next three games though, Boston ain't gonna be easy.
Approaching PNC Park aboard the Miss Pittsburgh. That's the 6th Street (Roberto Clemente) Bridge on the left. I like the sunlight reflection on the water. Another Canon shot.
I found my old Canon Powershot point and shoot digital that supposedly didn't work anymore. New batteries, and some fiddling seemed to bring it back to life, but it is still balky, sometimes, it doesn't want to focus, and sometimes it doesn't shoot at all. Was playing around with it though, as its a lot more portable than my Nikon D50.
Here's the left field "Loony Bin" bleachers at PNC.
I took nearly 50 pictures at Opening Day, this one is my favorite. Bucs win 11-5!! I can't remember the last time I saw three Pirate homers in the same game.
Molly got to meet Pirates leftfielder Lastings Milledge today! Unfortunatly, I lopped the top of my wife's skill off in this photo. Lastings was very personable. He signed a baseball and a picture for Molly.
Pirates players helped collect money for the families of Pittsburgh's slain police officers. Here's pitcher Jeff Karstens at the Home Plate gate. You can contribute to the Pittsburgh Fallen Heroes Fund at the Greater Pittsburgh Police Federal Credit Union, 1338 Chartiers Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15220.
Steve Blass tossed the ceremonial first pitch to his old battery mate, Manny Sanguillen! Blass has been with the Pirates for 50 years now. I have an old glove around here somewhere that Blass signed for me when I was in the third grade.
