FREDDY!!!

He did it!

Its the highest finishing batting average by a Pirate since 1969, when Clemente batted .345!

I took the day off to go see the game (making this the first year I've been to both opening day and the closing game) and it was one of the best games I've seen all year. I love a pitchers duel, the Pirates and Reds starters were just amazing, and both teams made some spectacular defensive plays.

Solomon Torres closed it out for the Bucco's 1-0 win, although he looked too much like Mike Williams out there, putting runners on first and third after getting two, before he punched out pinch hitter Javier Valentin for the save.

Bucs finished the second half over .500 and not in last place.

Pitchers and catchers report in five months!
